Who We Are
Metsons, a firm of Chartered Accountants, was established in 2002.
We originally offered accounts and tax services but in 2020, Adrian Metson, studied for the probate exams and was able to offer this additional service from January 2021.
We have 2 staff and if you would prefer a personal service then you should talk to us.
Our history
The business commenced trade in 2002 and has grown each year through client recommendations and existing clients returning each year for help with their tax.
It now operates from St Mary's, Isles of Scilly in Cornwall.

Metsons is now able to offer auto-enrolment solutions to our clients

Metsons welcomes Barbara Hall in February as a new employee to help with the expansion of the firm
2017
Metsons celebrates its 15 year anniversary in 2017
In January 2017 we submitted our highest number of personal tax returns since Metsons commenced trading
2019
Metsons is now able to offer making tax digital (filing VAT returns online) for existing and new clients from 1 April 2019.
Adrian received the ICAEW BFP (British Finance Professional) qualification reflecting his professional knowledge and experience.
2020
All clients met the 31 January 2020 personal tax return deadline without incurring the £100 penalty.
The arrival of Coronavirus meant Metsons continued to support all clients through this difficult time. This includes newsletters on the various schemes available, processing furlough claims and one to one advice.
In June Metsons installs ultrafast fibre broadband with Trooli to allow improvement in digital services to our clients.
2021
From 1 January 2021, Metsons started offering probate services to clients and non-clients. This has proved very popular and gives Meopham residents more choice rather than use the local solicitors in Longfield/Gravesend.
All clients who supplied their tax paperwork to us met the tax return deadline of 31 January.

Metsons moved to a brand new purpose built office in March 2022. This will provide a more modern office space for staff and clients and help with our continued expansion.
2025
Metsons is now registered as an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP), also known as a Companies House authorised agent. This means that we can verify an identity for Directors. From March 2026, only ACSPs will be allowed to file documents on behalf of other companies.

In July, Metsons relocated to St Mary's on the Isles of Scilly. We will continue to serve our Kent clients by visiting once a month for face to face meetings.
In October, Adrian Metson was accredited as a Commissioner of Oaths. This allows him to sign statutory declarations and other important legal documents to help clients that would have previously needed to contact a solicitor.
